National Night Out is a national community-building event that takes place the first Tuesday in August. (Although not all the National Night Out events happen that day.)
National Night Out started in 1984, and now takes place in 16,000 communities. Events are held all over the country to enhance the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement.
At National Night Out events, you’ll often find free food, games, music, bounce houses, and more. Each one is different. But at all of them you will get a chance to meet your local law enforcement officers and neighbors, and help make your community a little bit safer.
Scroll down for a list of just a few of the National Night Out events taking place in the Triangle. We expect many more to be added soon, and we’ll update this list.
We can’t include every neighborhood’s event, but make sure to ask around and find out if your neighborhood is hosting one too! Some of the events listed are for specific neighborhoods, and might not be for the general public, so make sure to check.
