Morgan Imports, at 113 S. Gregson Street, Durham, is celebrating their 50th anniversary on Saturday, November 2nd, 2019, from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Shoppers will enjoy a selection of snacks & beverages. Drawings for door prizes will be held every 20 minutes. A special interactive “Arch of Decades” featuring photographs, news articles, and vintage advertisements will provide a look into the past. A tarot card reader will be on hand to provide a glimpse into the future.
The venerable “Buck the Reindeer” also turns 50 this year and makes an early arrival. He will be available throughout the day for photo opportunities — perfect for customer social media needs.
At 3:30 pm, the official party gets started. Enjoy hors d’oeuvres and sweets served by current and former employees. Sparkling wine and an array of festive alternative beverages will be available, and, of course, there will be birthday cake and balloons.
At 4:30 pm, The Honorable Mayor Steve Schewel will make remarks and issue a special proclamation. Community members, civic leaders, friends and colleagues will share memories and join in the fun at this family-friendly event.
