The Mercantile, a furniture store at 315 N First Avenue, Knightdale, is hosting the second in its Guest Artist in Residence series on Saturday, December 9th, 2017, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
This is a free event.
This is a great opportunity to support local art, find a unique gift, learn about the creation of art and maybe get a little inspiration for your own artistic pursuits.
Artist and graphic designer Sandy DeMaioNewton will be demonstrating three mediums — watercolor, alcohol ink and graphite.
Sandy enjoys playing with color and light. Her fascination with light first began through the lens of a camera and now she strives to create it with paint. Many of her designs are created to inspire, sooth the soul and please the eye.
She specializes in portraiture; both people and furry friends. Sandy paints with watercolor, fluid acrylics, and alcohol inks. She likes to combine pen and ink with graphite.
Original art will be for sale, starting at $15.
