On Saturday, April 27th, 2019, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., there will be a free event, Meet Your State Symbols, at the North Carolina State Capitol, 1 E. Edenton Street, Raleigh.
This is a fun event for the whole family.
Various organizations and individuals representing state symbols will assemble on the Capitol’s east grounds, giving visitors the chance to learn, through a variety of activities, about our symbols and how they affect our environment and cultures.
The event will also feature music and dancing.
Here are a few examples:
- State tree: pine
- State sport: stock car racing
- State bird: cardinal
- State drink: milk
- State insect: western honey bee
