Be Connected Durham & Beyond, Inc. and The Art Chose Me are pleased to host a reception and an ethnodrama in collaboration with the Hayti Heritage Center, Duke Clinical & Transformational Science Institute, and North Carolina Central University Bridge Office on Sunday, October 16, 2022 at 4 p.m.
This event takes place at Hayti Heritage Center, 804 Old Fayetteville Street, Durham, NC.
It’s free to attend but registration is required.
KITES is the fourth ethnodrama produced through the NCCU-Duke Partnership Community Engagement Core. This live production will showcase the diverse voices and lived experiences of opioid users.
Following the production will be a live panel to further discuss with the audience themes from the play and engage in Q & A. The play is written by Dasan Ahanu with significant contributions from individuals and community organizations impacted by and involved in the opioid epidemic.
KITES is directed by NCCU Associate Professor of Theatre and Chair, Department of Theatre and Dance, Dr. Asabi (Stephanie Howard).
