Heritage Day is a free event at White Oak Recreation Area, at Jordan Lake State Recreation Area, 280 State Park Road, Apex, on Saturday, October 1st, 2016, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
This year’s event is celebrating North Carolina State Park’s Centennial. We hope to create an appreciation for the rich history associated with this land, and a respect for the wonderful natural resources the lake provides. Come out and enjoy hands on activities (North Carolina Archeology Society and others,) live entertainment (live music by Ann Meadows and Clogging by Little River Cloggers) and demonstrations all relating to the unique cultural and natural resources of this region. There will be something for the entire family to enjoy. The event is FREE, bring a picnic lunch or enjoy food from a local vendor.
