Free: Youth Fishing Rodeo in Orange County

The Youth Fishing Rodeo is an annual event that introduces children to fishing. It takes place Saturday, May 11th, 2019, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., at Blackwood Farm Park, 4215 NC 86, Hillsborough. (GPS systems might identify it as being in Chapel Hill.)

Bring your pole or rent one at the park. (Limited availability.) Bait worms will be provided. Live bait only.

The fishing rodeo will be followed by a free hot dog lunch.

It’s free to attend. Prizes will be awarded for:

• Most creative hat
• First fish caught
• Shortest fish
• Biggest fish

It’s for kids age 3-15.

Site Opens – 8:30 a.m.
Registration – 9:00-9:30 a.m.
Fishing Rodeo – 9:30-11:00 a.m.
Hot Dogs & Prizes – 11:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.
