Free: Sugar Shack Dance Workshop for youth

Empower Dance Studio, at 109 W. Parrish Street, Durham, is offering a free workshop, Sugar Shack Dance Workshop, for youth age 5 and older.

The workshop takes place Saturday, October 6th, 2018, from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.

At this workshop, youth will be led in a movement workshop that channels the spirit of movement and music in Ernie Barnes’ work. Young people will be exposed to the power of Ernie Barnes’ craft, as well as the excitement and creativity of dance.

This free workshop is presented in partnership with the Ernie Barnes Family Trust, the NC African American Heritage Commission and the Empower Dance Studio Foundation.
