Bare Theatre is presenting a modern take on Shakespeare’s “The Two Gentlemen of Verona” at several locations, all for free.

This production will be presented free of charge in various public spaces around the Triangle in Raleigh, Durham, RTP, Chapel Hill and Hillsborough. The goal is to make Shakespeare accessible and fun to anyone and everyone.
Valentine moves from Verona to Milan and discovers true love with the radiant Sylvia. Valentine’s best friend, Proteus, at first remains behind because of his love for Julia, but after being pressured by his father goes to join Valentine in Milan. There Proteus falls head over heels for Sylvia, and begins scheming to take her from Valentine. Meanwhile, the rich but dull Thurio also tries to woo Sylvia away, and Proteus’ forgotten love Julia dresses as a young man to sneak away to Milan to get her Proteus back.
Two Gentlemen will be presented in the round in various public spaces, allowing audience the chance to get close to the action of the play and enjoy outdoors in the late spring / early summer weather.
