Several community groups are distributing free food to those who are in need in Durham.
The groups involved are:
- Raise Up
- NC Poor People’s Campaign: A National Call for Moral Revival
- Carolina Jews for Justice
The distribution event will be Friday, May 21st,, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., at Lakewood Shopping Center, 2000 Chapel Hill Road, Durham. Food pick-up is first come, first served.
If you’d like to receive a box of food, you can register in person at the event.
More than 800 food boxes are available with delicious local and beyond organic produce, generously shared by Sankofa Farms LLC, together with Farmer Foodshare and Inter-Faith Food Shuttle.
If you’re arriving by vehicle, please drive up and do not get out of your car. They will load a food box into your trunk.
If you’re arriving without a vehicle, please keep at least 6 feet from other people. They will bring you a food box.
