In honor of Frederick Douglass Day, the Marian Cheek Jackson Center for Saving and Making History and Chapel Hill Public Library are hosting a transcribe-a-thon at Chapel Hill Public Library, 100 Library Drive, Chapel Hill, North Carolina.
Drop in at Room B of the library any time on Friday, February 14, 2025, from 12 to 3 p.m.
Participants will be transcribing documents from the African American Perspectives Collection at the Library of Congress.
Although Frederick Douglass never knew his birthdate, he chose to celebrate every year on February 14th.
You can bring your own laptop or use one of the library’s computers. Tanya’s Cookies will be supplying birthday cake!
