The Town of Morrisville is holding an Earth Day Celebration and a Drive-Thru Green Day Event in spring of 2023. The Earth Day Celebration is an in-person event for the whole family. The Green Day Event is a chance to get free paper shredding, drop off electronics, and more.

Morrisville Green Day Event
The Green Day event takes place on Saturday, March 18th, 2023, from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., at Church Street Park, 5800 Cricket Pitch Way, Morrisville, NC.
There will be several stations for recycling and safe disposal. Town staff and volunteers will be on hand to help if needed.

At this drive-thru event, you can drop off the following events. (Look here for the details on each.)
- Paper for shredding (until truck fills up)
- Textiles
- Fats oils and grease
- E-recycling (computers, cell phones, flat screen monitors and more)
- Medication
- Batteries
There will also be a food drive. Please bring non-perishable food items to donate to the Dorcas Ministries.
Morrisville Earth Day Celebration
The Morrisville Earth Day Celebration is on April 22nd, 2023, from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., at Western Wake Farmers’ Market, 280 Town Hall Drive, Morrisville, NC.
The Earth Day event features a passport adventure game that encourages guests to visit particular farmers’ market vendors and educational booths. Gift baskets will be awarded to the first four to complete the adventure.
Some of the stations include:
- Information about native plants, trees, and companion planting (including some fun giveaways)
- A composting and vermiculture demonstration (with live worms on display)
- Information about rain barrels
- A recycling sorting activity with prizes
- Children’s activities such as seed bomb making, eco-painting, and worms
The Morrisville Community Library will be there to distribute Earth Day-themed book lists and to lead a leaf-rubbing art activity.
Please park at the Western Wake Farmers’ Market parking lot (280 Town Hall Dr.), the Morrisville Chamber of Commerce (260 Town Hall Dr.), or the Indian Creek Trailhead (101 Town Hall Dr.). Restrooms are available at the Indian Creek Trailhead. Carpool whenever possible to help reduce our community greenhouse gas emissions.
