Join in at the The Arbor Day Celebration and Tree Planting at Durham Central Park on Friday, March 2nd, 2018, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The free event includes workshops, food trucks, demonstrations, and a giveaway of Shortleaf Pine saplings, courtesy of Duke Forest. The giveaway is first come, first served.
The event is presented by Keep Durham Beautiful, Trees Durham, Leaf & Limb, Durham Downtown Rotary Club, City of Durham Urban Forestry, Duke Energy and Durham Central Park, INC.
You’ll also have the opportunity to help plant trees in the park.

10:00 Arbor Day Ceremony and Proclamation with Mayor Schewel
10:30 Tree planting workshop with the City Urban Forester
10:30-12:30 Tree and pollinator garden planting
12:30 Leaf & Limb air spade demonstration
Tools, gloves, vests, trees and instruction will be provided. Please dress for the weather in layers, wear sturdy shoes, and bring a water bottle. Personal gloves and shovels are welcome. Sign up here.
