Walk and Talk about Trails

Met up with Friends of Johnston County Parks to learn what’s happening with trails in Johnston County.
4:00-5:00 pm – Walking participants will meet at Deep River Brewing and walk roughly 2 miles through Downtown Clayton along parts of the East Coast Greenway (ECG); which is a walking and biking route stretching 3,000 miles from Maine to Florida, connecting the nation’s most populated corridor. The greater Triangle region of North Carolina is the most complete metro area along the entire East Coast Greenway. Please bring water and dress in layers for the weather.
5:00-5:30 pm – Everyone will meet at Deep River for a brief learning session about trails in Johnston County with an update on plans and progress regarding parks and trails in JoCo, plus how you can get involved. Beer will be available via a cash bar and the brewery will have a food truck on-site.
5:30-7:00 pm – Mingle with partners in a vendor-style step-up, including experts to answer all your questions and maps of current and planned trails and parks in the area. Participating partners include: Triangle Land Conservancy, East Coast Greenway, Friends of the Mountain to Sea Trail, Sound Rivers, McAdams, Balfour Beatty, and the Johnston County Open Spaces Department.
