Current ArtSpace + Studio, at 123 West Franklin Street in Downtown Chapel Hill, is the newest venue of Carolina Performing Arts. It houses both an adaptable black box-style theater and a multi-purpose studio space, and will serve as Carolina Performing Arts’ physical and intellectual home for world-class artists-in-residence to collaborate with scientists, researchers, students and the community.
Current ArtSpace + Studio’s grand opening will take place Friday, February 2nd, 2018.
The ribbon cutting will take place at 11 a.m., with Carol L. Folt, UNC Chancellor, and Emil J. Kang, Executive and Artistic Director, Carolina Performing Arts, Special Assistant to the Chancellor for the Arts, in attendance.
The ribbon cutting will be followed by an open house from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., and another open house from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
The events are free and are open to both the University of North Carolina community and the community at large.
