It features films by new filmmakers such as current UNC Student Body President Taliajah “Teddy” Vann, ECU graduate writer-director Evan Kidd, and acclaimed veterans such as Erika Alexander (Living Single), Byron Hurt (Hazing), Christopher Everett, and Mike Wiley.
The festival offers unprecedented access to filmmakers as they tell stories of their craft, and how filmmaking is shaping our community. This year the festival will explore stores about reparation in the black community, grief, mental health, fraternity and sorority culture, and freedom.
There will also be live musical performances during the opening night gala.
