The Town of Cary is celebrating its Sesquicentennial (150th) anniversary in a big way.
Free outdoor celebrations will take place Saturdays, July 24th and July 31st, from 4 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. each day. The celebrations will take place in Downtown Cary on Academy Street, near the old library site. 310 S. Academy Street is a good address to target.

Celebrate Cary on July 24th
Celebrate Cary, from 4 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., on Academy Street, will feature games, kids’ activities, and performances by local cultural groups.
A highlight is a performance by Carolina Circus.
The evening ends with “A Show to Remember: Journey Through a Dream of Light” This is an immersive experience of light, art and technology. The Cary Art enter will be transformed into a large outdoor projection exhibit of color and light.
Sesquicentennial Sweets Bingo
From July 24th to 31st, visit participating bakeries, coffee shops and ice cream shops to take place in their Cary 150 deal. Pick up a Bingo card at one of the participating sites, or download from Cary150.org. Once you get a Bingo, turn your card back in for a chance at the grand prize. Check back soon for a list of participating shops.
Celebrate Cary on July 31st
Enjoy a second day of festivities from 4 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. on Academy Street. Enjoy food trucks, brewers and a DJ.
There will be games for kids and families, and shows by the Carolina Circus.

A Show to Remember: Journey Through a Dream of Light
The immersive experience of light, art, and technology, which takes place on the Celebrate Cary days of July 24th and 31st also takes place on some other evenings in between and after those dates.
The show lasts 10 minutes and will play on a loop for an hour.
