C.A.S.T. (Catch a Sure Thing) is a free program designed for kids with little or no fishing experience. Meet at the visitor center of Jordan Lake State Recreation area, 280 State Park Road, Apex.
It’s held every Sunday from April 14th to August 25th, 2019, with the exceptions of May 26th, June 30th, and July 7th.
The programs take place 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
Call the park office at 919 362-0586 ext. 218 to register your child. Please leave the child’s name and a parent or guardian’s name and contact number. Spaces are limited.
The program is for kids age 6 to 12 who want to go fishing. The program is limited to groups of 6 children. C.A.S.T. provides the bait, tackle and expertise. You’re encouraged to bring your own equipment if you have it.
Kids will learn how to bait a hook, types of fish found in the lake, and, if willing, how to unhook a fish!

This looks like a great opportunity for kids! I don’t suppose you’d do a free fishing program on a Friday for a summer camp from Woods Charter School? We would love to come out for a couple of hours with our campers!
Thank you.
