For Easter Sunday, it’s a “freedom song” night at Beer and Hymns: We’ll dig for the holiday’s Passover roots in the soil of the black-church and protest music that gets so much nourishment from the Hebrews’ Exodus story. We’re still working on our setlist, but you can be sure we’ll sing spirituals like “Wade in the Water” and protest songs like “We Shall Overcome” and Sam Cooke’s “A Change is Gonna Come.” This event is free to the public, and your donations will benefit the community-organizing work of Orange County Justice United. Doors open at 7, singing starts at 7:30. Cat’s Cradle Back Room, 300 E. Main, Carrboro
