American Dance Festival is a celebration of dance and features performances, workshops and community events. Established in 1934, it’s one of the most important dance festivals in the world. The events take place in June and July in Durham.
The festival also includes some free and inexpensive events, as well as a discount for young adults (scroll down to learn about the discount.)
American Dance Festival’s Movies by Movers
ADF’s Movies By Movers is a bi-annual festival dedicated to the celebration of the conversation between the body and the camera. These are free events.
There will be post-film discussions after some of the screenings. Find out all the information about the films and events.

ADF and lululemon will offer a special yoga event to celebrate our vibrant community of movers! First-time and seasoned yogis alike are encouraged to come out for a free restorative movement class.
ADF Go discounts
If you’re between 18 and 30 years old you’re eligible for ADF Go. With ADF Go you can get tickets for any performance, except Children’s Matinees and Dana Ruttenberg Dance Group, for just $12 a ticket. This is a significant savings. Follow the ADF Go Facebook page for updates.
