UPDATE: This event has been rescheduled to August 14.
National Night Out is a program that encourages local police departments to connect with the community in a fun way, and encourages the community members to stand together for safety and awareness. The official date is the first Tuesday in August, although not all communities hold their National Night Out event on that date.
Some National Night Out events are for the general public and some are for members of specific communities or neighborhoods.
You can find several National Night Out event in the Triangle.
The Smithfield Police Department is hosting a National Night Out celebration on Wednesday, August 14, 2024, from 5 to 8 p.m., at Johnston Community College, 245 College Road, Smithfield, North Carolina. Meet local first responders and enjoy free food and activities.
This is a rescheduled date, due to the weather August 6.
The free event includes:
- Duke Life Flight
- Petting zoo
- Bounce houses
- Safety info
- K9 demonstrations
- Hot dogs
- Snow cones
- Popcorn
- Fire sprinkler
